America iN motion
America in Motion was the project we completed for winter exhibition. For this project we made a large timeline of American history , beginning in the 1400's and ending in the 1900's. The timeline was broken up into eight panels. My group was assigned the final panel, the events on this panel included World War II, The Space Race, The Civil Rights Movement, and Communism. On this panel we also had to include influential people from that time period, ours were Martin Luther King Junior, and John F. Kennedy.
The section I was given to research was World War II, since we also had to include interactive elements on the panels I decided to mound envelopes to the panel and create fact sheets about two important |
The thing that I was most proud of was the final look of our panel. Since we finished about a day before exhibition my group was able to add more decorations to our panel, we cut symbols for some of the topics out and painted them, then we mounted them on the panel. Since we decided that they wouldn't be flush against the panel they really popped out and looked really nice. We also decided to hot glue toy soldiers to the World War II section of the panel. It added a more visual element since we had the red soldiers marching towards the tan and green ones.
Overall I was very proud of our exhibition, it was simple, but done really well. It also looked very professional on the night of exhibition. In the end I think my groups panel was one of the best ones. We were one of the only groups that had time to add decorations and I think it really showed in the final product.
