Video #1 + Reflection
I feel like I am fairly good at understanding what is being said to me. I also have found that I can usually figure out how to answer a question even if I have no idea what is being said to me. That is a skill I feel will really help me moving forward because it will allow me to answer a wider range of questions. I am already pretty good at thinking on my feet, I found this to be helpful during the first video when my partner didn’t answer the correct question, I was able to understand what they were saying and continue on with the conversation.
Personally I feel like my biggest challenge is spelling. I have found that I struggle with how each word is spelled because often things are pronounced way differently then spelled. Another thing I struggle with is pronunciation, I really don’t understand what all the different accents do. I also find that I struggle with forming full sentences that are grammatically correct
I plan to practice Spanish outside the classroom by talking to myself in Spanish. I often find myself talking to myself, so why not do it in Spanish. I also plan to just start asking my family random questions in Spanish that they probably don’t know how to answer. I feel like this will help me grow more comfortable with basic conversational phrases, and simple questions.
During the video I feel like my partner Griffin did a great job just going with things, once we got up in front of the camera we didn’t end up using the script and he did a really good job keeping the conversation going.
