Motion Of Emotion
Our poem was about power and hegemony. We wanted it to show what happens when there is too much power, and how it can destroy a society. Our inspiration for this poem were the lessons on hegemony. In the beginning we struggled finding a theme for our poem, after deciding that the hegemony lesson was the most interesting we had found our theme. For us writing the poem was relatively easy. Once we had our topic the rest of it came together. The mood we were in translated to the poem. The most frustrating part about working in partners was that we couldn't always agree. It felt like the poem wasn’t as personal because there were two people writing it; we each had a different vision for the poem.
The graph portrays the intensity of the emotion well. Our graph was similar, the climax was a little bit later in the poem then on the graph. The changes in the graph can display an emotional journey. The Y axis showed the main emotions in the poem, and the X showed what emotion connected with which stanza. For the most part the graph matched with the poem. The climax in the poem came later then on the graph. The poem having to match a graph hindered our creative freedom when writing the poem. |
The goal of this project was to learn about how emotion relates to motion. In pairs we wrote poems, the emotion in the poem had directly follow the slope of the graph we were given. We did this to learn the different ranges of emotion.
