Video #2 + Reflection
For the second video I feel like I practiced a lot more this time around because we weren't just doing a simple conversation. We were having a conversation about a more specific topic. This time around I did a lot more practicing with my partner, as well as just reading over our script. I feel like this really helped me solidify what I had to say. For this conversation my partner was Coco, he did a really good job supporting me, as well as going off the mistakes I made.
This conversation allowed me to broaden my spanish skills. It helped me get away from simple questions. I also think talking about comic books was a really good choice because a lot of the sentences can be modified slightly to talk about other characters. This gave me skills that I can apply in a conversation outside of school. |

I had quite a few struggles with pronunciation, I am pretty sure every other sentence in the video is pronounced incorrectly. There were also a few lines I could not memorize at all, in the end we ended up shortening those lines so they would be easier for me to remember. Moving forward I am excited about being able to have more conversations about topics I enjoy talking about. I am also excited because I feel like I understand more than I did in Spanish One. I feel much less confused.
Overall I feel like I have grown quite a bit since the beginning of the year. This conversation I felt like I understood what I was saying, and I wasn’t just spitting out memorized lines. I would like to push myself to eventually move away from having a memorized script and just having a conversation. I feel like that is less nerve wracking because someone isn’t expecting you to say something.
In the next video I don’t really have anyone that I would like to collaborate with. I think it’s more interesting when you don’t know the person you are talking to very well, it allows you to learn more about other people. I would love to have a conversation about movies or TV shows. I feel like those are such broad topics and everyone can talk about them. To practice Spanish outside of the school I can just talk randomly in Spanish. I feel like that will help me get more comfortable just speaking the language.
